I offer my clients a wide range of services, from which you can select - in à la carte style - the components that meet your requirements. Above all, I cater to the needs of the Internet novice, and enjoy creating a comfortable "online home" for clients who are venturing onto the Web for the first time. Establishing a Web presence can be an intimidating and overwhelming undertaking for the uninitiated, but I see my role as one of facilitator and source of support.
Domain name registration
Don't yet have a URL (Web address) for your business? No problem! I'll work with you to select an appropriate - and available - domain name for your business. Newton Designs will help you secure YOUR spot on the Web.

Website hosting sign-up
Once you have a domain name secured, the next step is to find a company that will host your site. I will work with you to assess your needs, determine the best third-party provider to host your site, and get you set up. Godaddy is one of my favorites, but the choice is up to you!

Email set-up
Most Web hosting packages include email accounts that can be directly accessed using your email client of choice (or a Web interface), or else forwarded to your current email address. I'll help you set up all of this.

Website layout and design
This is the real "meat" of my services. Do you have a specific design in mind? I work closely with clients to deliver their vision of the perfect website. Clients often send sketches from which I work to create the site of their dreams. No clue what you want your website to look like? No problem! Through phone and email discussions, I look forward to building a site that will look and feel perfect for you.
I takes pride in creating clean HTML code (the language used to build Web documents). I guarantee that your website will look right in all major browsers.

Custom graphics
I can work with your business's existing logo and color scheme from printed brochureware to create a new arm of your marketing efforts: the company website. If you are just getting your business off the ground, I will work closely with you to select colors, develop a design, and create a logo that can then be applied to other marketing assets. For elaborate logo design, I can introduce you to some pro logo artists and help shape a logo for you with their artistic expertise.
In addition to custom artwork, I will scan photos, company logos, and other material for use on your website. I optimize graphics for use on the Web, and perform any touch-up work needed to best present your images online.

Content creation support
I offer editing services to assist clients in preparing text for their websites. Although I count on the client to provide the initial content, when requested I will edit the material. Writing for the Web is very different from writing for print publications, and I can help clients "massage" text so that it will flow well and work in the online world.

E-commerce set-up
For clients selling products or services, I will use a third-party e-commerce shopping cart utility, providing seamless access to a secure credit card processing system. If you are planning a robust online store with many products, I offer the Cartweaver shopping cart (ColdFusion edition) which features a product database, a user-friendly admin panel (for store owners to independently edit their product offerings after site launch), flexible customer discounts, and much more. I own the licensing rights to this software, so aside from my time spent, it is free for you to use. Mal's E-Commerce is also free for clients and ideal if you are selling just a handful of items.

Interactive questionnaires, polls
I can build online questionnaires and polls that will allow you to interact with your clients. Give your customers an easy way to communicate with you via a contact form! Form submissions will arrive right in your email in-box.

I can install a WordPress blog and customize a design theme for you. Very easy to use, you'll be ready in no time to keep your customers up-to-date on the latest business happenings.

E-mail newsletters
I can help you set up (and maintain, if you choose) a mass e-mail newsletter managed by Constant Contact or a similar service. We can set up the newsletter design to complement the design of your site. E-mail newsletters are a great way to build your customer base, keep customers informed of news and/or new products from your business, and generate more traffic to your website.

Website promotion and search engine optimization
Once your site is built, you need to let people know where to find it! I offer search engine submission services. I submit your website by hand to all the major search engines. Prior to submitting it, I optimize your site with meta tags and other features that will improve your chances for high placement in the search engines. (Please note that in recent years, some major search engines have begun charging sites for indexing services. These fees are not covered by Newton Designs, but I will perform the submissions for you.)

Website maintenance and ongoing support
To encourage people to come back to your site, it is essential to keep the content fresh and give them a reason to return. I work with clients to perform needed updates and revisions. As your business grows, you may have future needs to expand your site, for example with a shopping cart or new featured products. I will work closely with you and help you assess how to best show off your latest endeavors.

Matching print products
My work doesn't have to end with your website. Now that you have an online presence, wouldn't it be great to have business cards, letterhead, and other business stationery that match your new online look? I can provide you with high-resolution graphics on CD that you can have printed, or else I can place the print order for you, to be delivered to your door. Be sure to ask about these add-on services!
